| Note: |
| Remember that you can make image links with only text on them, without having to make the whole "button"... Use the instructions below to make text buttons that have interesting fonts that otherwise you wouldn't be able to use in Dreamweaver... |
11. Add text to the buttons. Using the Type Tool in Photoshop
,
type the text that you want to put on the first button. Remember that while
you are in the Type Tool, text behaves very much like it was being edited in
a Word Processing program (you can select it, change its size, change the font,
color, etc.). All these edits can be found in the top toolbar in Photoshop.
To use the type tool click on the canvas wherever you want to start your text
and a blinking cursor will appear. If you want to move the text once you finish
typing it, use the Move Tool and treat it as you would any object on its own
layer.![]()

12. Repeat the process with all your buttons. Make sure you space them out correctly and evenly. This is important so you can later cut them out very nicely with the slice tool. Which we will get to in a bit...
If at this point you can't see some of the text you are typing, it could be because of one of the following reasons:
13. At this point, your buttons should look something like either of the bottom options:

Notice that I created a simple logot and banner on the top to spice it up. Also, notice in the second example I used a Drop Shadow on the Text to make it mor interesting. I did this through the Layer>Layer Style menu, just like you would a Bebel and Emboss, but using the Drop Shadow option. Feel free to play around with other options and settings from this menu.
